How can a dentist restore dental implants?

• Dental crown. A dental crown is used over the dental implant to replace a single tooth within the smile. The crown is a cap covering the abutment above the gum line and looks just like the other teeth in size, shape, and color. Dental crowns are customized for the patient to ensure seamless integration.
• Dental bridge. When patients are replacing one or several teeth in a row, they may be told they can benefit from a dental bridge. A dental bridge is a restoration that includes false teeth fused to dental crowns on each side. They require teeth on opposite sides for support, but if this is not available, dental implants may be used instead.
• Dentures. Patients who need to replace all the teeth in the smile may find that dentures, made to snap into several dental implants along the dental arch, are the most effective way of restoring the smile. Dentures made for implants are much more conservative than more traditional full dentures, which may include acrylic teeth and gums.
